privacy

This is a static personal site. Pages, fonts and images are served from bullshitai.dev itself. By default it sets no cookies and makes no requests to other companies.

Google Analytics, only if you accept

On bullshitai.dev the site asks once whether it may use Google Analytics 4 to count visits. Nothing from Google loads before you answer, and nothing loads if you reject. The question does not appear on preview or local copies of the site, and they never load analytics.

If you accept, your browser loads Google’s tag (gtag.js) and sends Google the pages you view, the page that linked you here, your browser, device and screen, and interactions Google Analytics measures on its own, such as scrolling to the end of a page, clicks on links to other sites, and file downloads. According to Google, Analytics uses your IP address to derive an approximate location and does not store it. The tag sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_GYZQNF1E8E, which tell your visits apart and expire after up to two years.

Google Signals and ad personalization are off, and consent for advertising storage and ad data stays denied. The site sends no form input or other text you type.

Your answer is stored in your browser’s local storage under analytics. It is not a cookie and is not sent anywhere.

Changing your mind

Use analytics in the footer of any page, or here: . Rejecting after you accepted deletes the two cookies and reloads the page without the tag, so nothing further is sent from this browser. Data already sent to Google is kept according to the Analytics property’s retention settings. Clearing this site’s data in your browser also resets the question.

Google describes how it uses this data in its privacy policy and on How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. Google also offers a browser add-on that blocks Google Analytics on every site.
